About Me


I graduated from the Foothills School of Nursing in 1981 with my diploma in nursing. I received a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Athabasca University in 2005 with Great Distinction. In 2011 in graduated first in my class from Athabasca University with a Masters of Nursing degree. I hold a certificate in Addictions Studies from Mount Royal University.

I currently work at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, Canada teaching undergraduate nursing.

Areas of Academic Interest
Background in Orthopedics, Canadian Nurses Association Orthopedic Specialty Certification 2006, 2011
Research Interests include: Arts-based teaching strategies, Student Engagement, Exemplary Oncology Nurses, and further refinement of “the Quantum Perspective of Learning“ theory (Janzen, Perry & Edwards, 2011, 2012)
Teaching focus: First and second year nursing theory, lab and clinical practice
